Personal hygiene is a preventive health measure that serves a person's emotional, social, and physical well-being: Personal hygiene refers to maintaining cleanliness of one's body and clothing to preserve overall health and well-being.
One personal benefit of good hygiene is having better health. Keeping your body clean helps prevent illness and infection from bacteria or viruses.
 Like in our example, the simple act of washing your hands regularly is an effective way to keep germs from spreading.

It includes a number of different activities related to the following general areas of self-care:
Washing or bathing, including cleansing oneself after using the toilet; taking proper care of the mouth; grooming and dressing; and keeping clothing clean.
- Bathing, dressing and undressing, and using the toilet are considered activities of daily living (ADLs), 
- While  doing one's laundry is considered an instrumental activity of daily living or IADL.

Every day, you come into contact with millions of outside germs and viruses. They can linger on your body, and in some cases, they may make you sick.

Personal hygiene :

Step 1: Get Wet - taking a shower or bath everyday is an important step in
keeping yourself clean.

Step 2: Whether  you take a  shower or  bath you need to use soap or shampoo -  When you are washing yourself just plain water not get you clean.
You need to use soap and take extra time on certain parts of the bodies that sweat more, like your legs, private areas and underarms. You also need to use shampoo to wash your hair. If you do not wash your hair, it will look greasy and smell bad.

Step 3: Drying - After you shower be sure to completely dry yourself with a towel.
Remember bacteria loves moisture.

Step 4: Hair - To keep your hair looking nice, you need to brush or comb everyday. If you  do not brush it
everyday you will get tangles in your hair that will be very hard to remove. Boys who keep their hair short have a much easier time taking care of it. If you want to have longer hair you will need to spend more time keeping it healthy.

Step 5: Deodorant - You will need to apply deodorant to your underarms. During the day we sweat. When our
underarms sweat they produce a bad odor. If you use deodorant everyday after your shower you can keep your underarms fresh and smelling  good.

Step 6: Teeth - it is very important to take care of your mouth. Bacteria grows in our mouth and our breath
smell very bad. You need to brush your teeth at least twice a day to keep it clean. You also need to floss daily. When we eat, food can stuck in between our teeth. Floss will help to  remove it. You also need to see your dentist twice a year for good dental health.



Personal Grooming:


Personal Grooming (also called
preening). Self confidence and being well groomed go hand in hand. It is a species - typical behavior. A Groomed Person is a Better Person!
Personal Grooming is probably the most important thing in every field. It's  the art of cleaning, grooming, and maintaining parts of the body. It maybe in the field of business, designing, an executive at a corporate office, teachers or even in restaurants!

MEANING:
Personal grooming not only means looking neat and good but includes everything that makes you more sophisticated.

Personal Grooming  - involves the following aspects:-    
- Looks
- The  conversation skills
- The attitude
- The posture
- The dress style even
- The hair-style is very important in grooming.

LOOKS:
Looks always played a very important role in everything a person does. If a person is good in talent, speech, etc but looks untidy and uncivilized, the person creates a bad impression immediately.

These points are very important for good looks:

1)You need not have the looks of a supermodel, but should be neat.

2)Your hair should not cover up your face but held back. Men should have a short haircut and ladies can tie their hair or put it in a bun.

3)There should not be much make-up. The make-up should be natural and light, not bold and bright.

CONVERSATION SKILLS:
Conversation skills too, make a huge impact.

- The speech should be fluent without grammatical errors.

- The voice should not be too loud nor too soft. It should be filled with confidence.

- One should be good in at least one language, preferably English.

ATTITUDE:
Attitude, here, does not mean pride or ego.

Attitude means confidence and determination.


You and your personal hygiene and grooming will benefit from putting in time and intention to your look!
